Guy I went to junior college with. We were in an honors English class together.
He was a trumpet player.
I guess he still plays music. He got in touch with
me and I sent him a book. He sent me "Blues for Jack" for my birthday.
He lives in New Mexico.
I can't read music and don't know what the song
sounds like. Maybe Balder can hum it for me.
I reckon I'll go to the Martin
Theater Sunday to hear Slim Fatz.
I have a month to go on my temporary writing
job. I wrote two courses, one on sheetmetal and one on electronics technician, and
am working on a third one, on machinist.
I don't think they'll fire me.
I'm indispensable. Plus, in a month they will have wrung me dry. Used me up. They
can discard the shell, like sweeping out a snakeskin, after the snake has molted.
A moltin' 'gator. Went to a book release party at the library last night.
Mike Lister. He had a photography exhibit, Elam Stolzfus, from Blountstown, showed
some of his movie about the Apalachicola River swamp, with music by Sammy Tedder.
Mike's new book, Double Exposure, is a mystery that takes place in the
swamp.
I started thinking about a sequel to BLACK HARVEST.

I have both been sick. I don't know if it was swine flu or equine encephalitis or
just the crud. About to get over it. West Nile virus. We've both been getting chiggers
in our own yard. Global warming.
Good luck on your road trips.
