Freeport

Freeport is built around the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 331, both two-lane roads.

But Highway 20 and Highway 85 were both two-lane roads in Niceville, once, and they look like Fort Lauderdale, now.

A developer has plans for Freeport.

He has planners, who help developers do this, declare neighborhoods blighted, the city takes them from the owner, using eminent domain, and sells them to the developer. The city might also use taxpayer money to pay the developer to develop the property he's going to make money from.

Everybody benefits. The city, the developer, the planners.

You might not benefit, if your property is taken away from you.

But fuck you--you live in a blighted neighborhood.

You made a wrong life-choice.

You should have lived in the neighborhood the developer envisions. Or the neighborhood he lives in, out of state.

You should have chosen to be a developer, a planner, or a politician, who has the vision to see which side his bread is buttered on.
