The Above-Ground Gourmet

Heap wrote a column for the Point and Shoot Weekender,

a weekly advertiser.  Also book reviews.  He was a roving

cultural reporter.  He went to concerts, plays, CD and book

release parties.  In his book he called the paper the Mullet Wrapper.

He was proud to have a paying outlet for his work.  He published it

at his website, The Daily Raver, and charged the paper to reprint it.

That way, he owned it.  It wasn’t work for-hire.  He didn’t sell

his soul for a mess of potage.  Potage is soup.

He ate lunch at Trigo Deli yesterday.

He got a pastrami and Swiss

and a tomato-basil bisque.
