Tyndall AFB

I worked a temporary job at Tyndall AFB
for six months. You couldn't get on permanent
unless you were a RIFed civil servant survivor of
the Bataan Death March or had nice tits. I didn't.
I had to get a Temporary pass for my vehicle once a month,
and this was before 9-11. They were paranoid about security.
Of course, it didn't prevent 9-11. Why weren't the fighter-interceptors
scrambled? The F-15s, F-16s I saw in Hangar 5. Didn't they have them
in Washington or New York? Were they asleep at the switch? Were they
told to stand down? Who was giving them their orders? When I was in
the Air Force we had standing operating procedures.
