It's Saturday night. Halloween. Jennifer and Balder
like to celebrate with
their kids. Dress up and trick-or-treat.
So we gave Rowan a rain-check. I went
to Sandy's Feed and Seed
and bought scratch feed for the chickens and a flat of
collard greens
and Savoy cabbage. We cook the cabbage leaves like greens. I
have
achieved my pulp-ghetto ideal, where I can eat beet tops, fresh seafood,
and
go hear live acoustic string band music at The Red Bar on the weekend.
A cold
front is moving in. The rain has stopped. It should be
good sleeping weather.
I wear a flannel nightgown
from L. L. Bean, although not the flannel sleep cap/
chemo
hat for women with breast cancer.
I guess I scare the trick-or-treaters.
I
look like Man Mountain Dean,
the professional wrestler.
