When we lived in the trailer, after the bankruptcy,
Brenda slept in the second bedroom and I had the master bedroom
for a writing studio. By this time I had a small, desktop computer,
although I wasn't on the Internet yet. Brenda didn't like the roaches.
She also didn't like Granny Brown coming in unannounced, without knocking,
to make sure we weren't having wild, screaming sex with each other,
on the couch, in the absence of parental supervision. It was in the trailer
that I learned that Patrick Kelly died. He did the covers of Screed
and Evil Genius. Jack Neff did Open Book. He's dead now too.
I looked up Jack Neff in Google and got a hit on Peter Jenkins,
Walk Across America. He visited Jack and Karol at Penland.
