I think Duane Locke said
he wasted his life in academia.
Maybe it was just
teaching at the University of Tampa.
He publishes poems in little magazines, and
online,
paints, takes photographs, and listens to opera. I think
he lives
in an old folks home in Lakeland, and has a computer.
That's all a writer needs.
A place to sleep, three meals a day
and an Internet connection. I think a barber
comes to the home
and gives the residents haircuts.
