If We Make It Through December

The phone rang yesterday. I was in my room, typing.

It was my old recruiter. She wanted to know if I was interested in interviewing for a temporary technical writing job at the place I worked last, writing the training programs for the unemployed.

I said I'd be glad to interview them.

She said she'd set something up and call me back.

The family song used to be "If We Make It Through December." Many a year I was out of work, over the holidays.

If I get a job, that will tide us over until next year.

I can write 818.5302 SAU: THE PROBLEM OF SUSTENANCE and work both.

I have done it before. I can do it again.
