The Honor Roll

New York is a city run entirely by lists.

Best Chinese restaurant.  Worst situation comedy.

The problem is, they get them reversed.  They impose

their narrow, ethnocentric vision on it.  Best to whom?

Worst for what?  I am the poster boy for marketplace

censorship.  I am the man, I suffered, I was there.

Try to deny me, world-besotted traveler.

That and $2.50 will buy you a cup of coffee.

At the Automat.  On the subway.  The Bronx is up

and the Bowery’s down.  The people ride in a hole in the ground.

New York, New York, it’s a wonderful town.

Rosanna Arquette in After Hours, giving Griffin Dunne

her number because of a common interest in Henry Miller.
