I wrote three pamphlets and a PowerPoint
outline of my presentation for the writers conference, Writing as Growth.
I think people will still learn to read,
because there’s nothing like reading.
I think there will still be books because
there’s nothing like a book.
I don’t know what will happen to
publishers who are in the entertainment business or bookstores that don’t
understand books.
What can they do to me—reject my books?
They are already rejecting my books.
They don’t need me. But I don’t need them.
We’re at a Mexican standoff.
I think people will still become writers
because it’s rewarding and for a certain kind of personality, nothing less will
do.
Have I grown as a writer?
I became more technically accomplished, as
I mastered my craft.
I think I am more mature, emotionally,
than I was. I don’t rage like a
heathern.
What’s the point of doing that?
I think I am a role-model to some of my
readers. I am an example to them. I take that serious. I can’t let my readers down.
I want to see the job through. Find out how it ends.
