WRITER covers the first 39 years of my life as a writer
When I dropped out of graduate school, to write, a professor told me, “Many are called but few are chosen—a career takes 20 years.”
It takes 20 years if you do it their way. If you go your own way, it takes 40.
At least, it has taken me 40.
If I sold WRITER today it would be a year before I saw anything.
I could be dead.
That’s the drama of it.
My theme, stated in five words or less, is vocation and career in conflict.
