Bald Point


The state bought the land Bald Point is on and made it into a park.

The first time I was out there I saw a bald eagle. I was the only person for miles around.

I could look across the bay and see the end of Ochlockonee Point, which I had just come from. Another park.

During World War II, soldiers from Camp Gordon Johnston, in Carrabelle, landed amphibious craft on the beaches of Bald Point.

Rattlesnake bites took as many lives as any other training accident.
