To my knowledge there's only one other
author who lives in Parker, Ann Pratt Houpt. She has written Parker, Callaway,
and is working on a proposal for Millville, for Arcadia Publishing's Images
of America Series.
That's where I live.
So home, in OLD FOLKS
AT HOME, is Brenda's old home place in Parker, which we are buying from her brothers
and sister.

I used to call myself a Florida writer. A Florida writer is one left out of the
year-end round-ups of "Who is the Florida Writer?" "What is the Florida
novel?"
I am always left out of those.
But now, I call myself
a Parker, Florida writer, and put myself in the year-end round-ups. In my own year-end
round-ups.
I call myself a Professor of Cracker Studies, without portfolio.
