Brew prepared his dispatches for publication, as-is, live, one take, no safety net, and just as he was ready to go to press with them his publisher went tango uniform, or tits-up.

At the very least there would be cash flow difficulties. An attenuation of resources. Brew's book would enjoy a lower priority.

A book was a luxury, compared to food, shelter, clothing, and transportation. Even Thoreau found this out, in Walden, when he had to move back in with his parents, the prototypical boomerang child.

You can't run a marathon in flip-flops.
