Dear Jason:
I got email from Elliott Mathis (jasonb@girafnetwork.com) saying I still had
time to get two exhibitor tables pushed together for Zina-A-Polooza 2005.
Here's $50. I call my publishing operation Garage Band Books. Like Montgomery Ward
Snopes calling his filthy postcard operation out of Jefferson, Mississippi, Atelier
Monty.
Look forward to seeing you July 31. I will bring a bunch of pamphlets
and books. And a CD. Enclosed find Dread Clampitt and Root Doctor.
I will write about the event in the current book, TWO ZINE FESTS, and the next book,
SORRY BUT NO: CONFESSIONS OF AN UNDERGROUND WRITER, at The Daily Bulletin
(www.thedailybulletin.com). The other zine fest is Philly Zine Fest 2005. I'm going
to be a headliner at a reading at a ULA Philadelphia Invasion! there and do a workshop
at Philly Zine Fest 2005 on DIY publishing.
I gave myself a year to promote
Bukowski Never Did This and write about doing it. Zine fests is where I promote
it. Bukowski Never Did This is about working full-time and writing. It's
about writing 250 books without selling one to New York. Or having a publisher like
Black Sparrow Press. It's about going to hear Dread Clampitt play at The Red Bar
in Grayton Beach.
Dread Clampitt is playing at the Red Light Café in Atlanta
July 14. I gave them some Zine-A-Polooza fliers to hand out.
