Dear Rebecca Strong:
Enclosed find a description of TWO ZINE FESTS, A HOOTENNANY, AND A SIDE-TRIP TO
PARADISE GARDEN.
I wonder if you'd like to see the manuscript for it when
I finish writing the book, around the first week of August 2005.
The events
covered in the book will end July 31, but I'll be on the road that weekend, on tour,
and it will take me a few days to type up what I have written while out of town after
I get home.
They say that by the time you can see a bandwagon it's too late
to get on it. By the same token, nobody sees a literary movement being born even
though they're looking right at it because it doesn't look anything like the literary
movement it replaces. The expert is always expert in the wrong thing.
They're
like a dinosaur, having to eat their weight in lily pads every day, while the furry
little protomammal up on the bank eats their eggs.
I'm the protomammal. Me
and my web site, The Daily Bulletin.
