Dear Bill:
Glad you liked Bukowski Never Did This.
I have a brother, Bill,
three years younger than me.
I used to pick on him until he whipped my ass.
Then I never picked on him again.
We were close until my grandparents died.
Then had a falling out over money. He was still drinking at the time, and I was
sober, but not working any program, so my spirituality wasn't the best.
Last
year at my mother's funeral we stayed drunk for a week and told stories about growing
up. That was healing.
Then he came to Balder and Jennifer's wedding. We
saw him then and he spent a night with us on the way home.
We patched things
up.
I haven't read Joe Pachinko's Swamp. I ordered it and The
Urinals of Hell from Amazon.com.
I also ordered Cindy Crabb's Doris:
An Anthology, 1991 - 2001.
That's a long time to do a zine, and the
300-page book is impressive. I like it.
Micrososm Publishing said to order
Doris from Amazon, it gave them credibility.
Jeff Potter said Amazon ordered
five more copies of every title of mine he had, as if they were expecting a Jack
Saunders boom.
Bukowski Never Did This is ranked 623,627.
A week ago it was a million, and a month ago it was unranked.
I don't know
what to make of it, except that I am glad you can buy the book at Amazon, and Google
has a link to Amazon, so it's still possible to buy an obscure book if you don't
mind using the Internet.
I buy everything over the Internet. Don't leave
my house.
Edvard Munch didn't leave his house the last six years. He died
alone. When they came to get him the gate was rusted shut.
That's sad.
I'm not that bad.
It's like Bukowski said. I don't hate people. I just
feel better when they aren't around.
