My LDA Grant

When Bukowski Never Did This came out I gave myself a Last Ditch Attempt (LDA) grant to quit my job and drive around the Redneck Riviera selling the book and writing about doing that.

I cashed in the annuity I had rolled my pension over into. Paying a penalty to do so.

Brenda agreed to let me do this. I think she thought I wouldn't last another year, working, and who knows, maybe something would come of the book.

I had one more year.

Could I put myself over the top?

What would happen if my money ran out and I ended up right back where I started, like a gopher in a tub?

That's the drama of it.

A man putting his money where his mouth is.
