An Ad

I took out an ad in the local mullet wrapper

for my booth at Carillon Beach. An Arts & Crafts Festival.

I wanted it to say GARAGE BAND BOOKS, but because of

the width of the column and the size of the type and the

hyphenating rules, it broke the line GARAGE BAND BOO-

KS, and I imagined Homeland über alles Security software

flagging me as a home-grown marijuana trafficker in Garage Band

Boo, Kansas, and coming to look for me. I crossed state lines.

I didn’t sell any books. I had plenty of foot traffic. I had a booth.

If I look up booth.jpg in Search Desktop I get hits on several booths

I have sat at, over the years, without selling any books.

But you get to sit outside and you see lots of people.
