I went to Creaturefest in Wakulla Springs
and wrote a pamphlet I called Blue Ball Blues.
Writing without publishing is like chewing without
swallowing. It’s like putting on a rubber and then
not having sex. I saw the stars. Julie Adams,
Ben Chapman, and Ginger Stanley. I didn’t pay for
the full media package. A jungle cruise and dinner with
the people selling memorabilia at the trade show, to Trekkies.
Mind you, the Creature From the Black Lagoon is a leitmotif
in Cacoëthes Scribendi’s body of work. I even had a painting done
for a book. It wasn’t used. The author doesn’t choose the cover art.
The publisher does. And he has people whom he uses.
