I went to Folk Fest ’96 at
the
I saw Woodie Long and Dot.
I knew Woodie was a successful
folk artist, but I didn’t know just how
well thought-of he was. Many galleries
carried him. Dot asked me about the boys.
He had a gallery in
Balder from that. Owen used to stay with them
in
1,000 paintings the year before. I told her I wrote
a book a month. I identified with Woodie in that
respect. All I wanted to do was make a housepainter’s
income painting folk art. I’m not there yet. Still keeping
my productivity up. I don’t see how. Just lucky I guess.
