If We Make It Through December

You can't just write a book of whatever you wrote
between certain arbitrary dates. From the time you were
laid off for lack of work to after Thanksgiving, for example.
Or after Christmas. Making it through December.
Why not? I think one of May Sarton's books was classified
818.5203 Sar. Maybe more than one. Merle Haggard.
Beloved American folk poet. Donn Pearce called him
"a hick from Bakersfield." Well, I write Hick Lit.
Donn Pearce wrote Dying in the Sun.
