Paradise Garden

One Saturday morning I read in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution,

or Creative Loafing, that it was Howard Finster Day in Summerville, Georgia,

so I drove over for that, and visited Paradise Garden, and bought a book.

Howard Finster, Stranger from Another World:  Man of Visions Now on This Earth.

Elvis, Jesus, and Coca-Cola.  After I read the book I sent it to Larry and Hazel.

I was to go to Paradise Garden several more times, and every time I went

I saw something I hadn’t seen before.  It was richer than three foot up

a bull’s ass.  Howard was still active.  Autographing lithographs

at crafts shows and street fairs.  The occasional appearance

on Johnny Carson.  Album covers for rock bands from Athens.

Owen and Jean were to live in Athens.

Before there were children.
