NOLA Express
Point and Shoot, Florida (YU)--Heap would buy and read the NOLA Express.
Hippies sold it in the French Quarter, instead of panhandling. Or in addition to
panhandling.
He first read Bukowski's poems and short stories in the NOLA
Express. This was before Post Office, maybe before the collections of
stories, or books of poetry.
Anyhow, Heap liked his stiff.

One issue of the NOLA Express had a front page that said WELCOM BAPTIST
CONVENTION.
The back page had a picture of a naked man jacking off while
holding a Playboy magazine. The caption asked, "What sort of a man reads
Playboy."

Heap was later to meet Robert Head and Darlene Fife, the publishers of NOLA
Express, and through them., Patrick Kelly, Blue Horse magazine.
In fact, Screed, and Evil Genius, had Patrick Kelly drawings on the
front cover.
