Once on a head boat we got into a mess
of schooly dolphin and caught several.
Bill
showed me his mahi-mahi recipe.
He cut the fish into cubes, dredged them in
water-ground
corn meal, and fried them in
deep fat. They were caught that morning.
We
ate them for supper, late that afternoon.
We were drunk. I remember them tasting
especially good, but it could have been the
offshore fishing mystique. Just
this side of
the weed line by the Gulf Stream. I'm glad I
got to do that
with my brother.
