Jean's conference at Seaside ends at
noon today.
We will drive over with Ella and some shrimp, and have a shrimp
boil at Suzette's house.
One of the reasons Brenda and I moved back to Florida
was to be close to friends like Suzette, and be somewhere we could buy fresh shrimp,
to boil.
Also, since Owen and Jean came down fairly often, to see Suzette,
and eat fresh seafood, they could leave Ella Blue with us for a couple of days, and
we'd get to see her, more often than if we still lived in Atlanta.
Jean will
take Ella back to Tennessee with her, and Brenda and I will have the house to ourselves
again.
Balder's out of town, playing a bluegrass festival in Telluride, Colorado,
so we won't go to The Red Bar in Grayton Beach tomorrow. Another reason we moved
back to Florida was to go to The Red Bar in Grayton Beach on Sunday and hear Dread
Clampitt play.

Tomorrow is Father's Day.
I already heard back no on my query letter,
an hour after I sent it, by email.
That was fast. On winged legs.
I don't sound right for her list. But she wishes me luck with my book.
I'm
probably not right for her list.
Whose list is my book right for?
That's the $64 question.
A subplot.
Her page at Publishers Marketplace
said she was looking for "literary fiction and narrative nonfiction."
But probably not in the same book.
Another subplot.
