Where Next?

Where next?

Pyle wasn't sure where to go next.

He had planned to write a sequel to BLACK HARVEST, a murder mystery set in Wewahitchka, Port St. Joe, and Panama City, Florida.

Wewa had your freshwater lakes, your river swamp, your rural, small town stock car racing track (fastest dirt track in the south), Port St. Joe had the beach, and seafood--Pyle's hero walked on the beach from the inlet at Mexico Beach to the end of Tyndall AFB, or Crooked Island Beach, every day--and Panama City had an airport, a junior college, a shopping mall, or several shopping malls, congested traffic, on 23rd Street, but all over town, increasingly. A paper mill. The mill at Port St. Joe had closed.

Here's a picture of Pyle, so you know what he looks like.

"Are you a painter?"

"No, I'm a writer."

"I meant a housepainter."

"I meant a technical writer."
