There's two good days in a job,
the first day and the last. Today,
I have
to copy my manuscript to a CD disk
and paste a label on it. I have made the label.
I
have a template. Pasting it is tricky because
it wants to wrinkle up, or stick
to itself, or form blisters.
I'm kinda unhandy. Mike Palacek asked me to review
Speak
English. I did. In it, I said, basically, "I read to escape."
That's
what John Prine said in Daddy and Them. Andy Griffith
saying cornhole.
The Sheriff of Mayberry. Don Knotts. I'm not
nervous, I'm just a little quick.
Whoa down, Monty. Easy, big fellow.
Don't let them spook you.
